I sat next to a prominent Berlin-based photographer at a dinner last night. I asked her about her thoughts on generative AI: is it changing her workflow, and is she seeing any impact on her profession so far?
Her answer was a clear ‘no’ on impact… she’s using the tools in some form when they’re baked into her existing workflow… noise reduction, generative fill, etc. But she still points the camera and takes the photo, and this, she told me, is what people want.
Gen AI is making it easier than ever to create content, but there will always be a place for unique, thoughtful and human expression.
