This slatted bench was a special commission from a good friend of ours. She wanted a solid, but sleek, bench for her apartment hallway.
I chose European Oak with a hardwax oil finish.
The slatted design makes the bench feel solid and sturdy, while still feeling airy, and not so heavy. It has a confident presence in the room without feeling crowded or full.
I love knowing that pieces of furniture I have designed and built are in my friends’ houses, being used every day, being part of their lives.
